October 2025: Dr. Jill Kries received the Outstanding PhD Thesis award for her dissertation work at KU Leuven!

August 2025: Multiple undergraduate research assistants have been working on projects this summer! Maria (top) presented a poster on the work that she's been completing through the Wu Tsai Human Performance Alliance Undergraduate Research Program, Ania (middle) presented a poster for her work through the PsychSummer program, and Alex (bottom) presented his work from the statistics summer program!


July 2025: Dr. Laura Gwilliams was one of only 13 early career researchers to receive the 2025 Klingenstein Neuroscience Fellowship!

May 2025: Dr. Jill Kries gave a talk titled "Understanding speech and language encoding through the lens of aphasia" in the Stanford Psychology Department's weekly Friday Seminar!


January 2025: The GLySN Lab went on our first ever retreat to Lake Tahoe!


January 2025: Dr. Jill Kries gave a talk titled "How the brain encodes speech and language with aging and aphasia" at Stanford's Center for Computer Research in Music and Acoustics!

 

 

 


December 2024: Dr. Jill Kries attended the Exploring Temporal Response Functions (TRFs) in Real-World Speech Processing workshop in Delmenhorst, Germany and gave a talk on how she has utilized encoding and decoding models in her research projects!


October 2024: Dr. Laura Gwilliams, Dr. Jill Kries, and Irmak Ergin attended the Society for Neurobiology of Language Conference in Brisbane, Australia! Irmak and Jill each presented posters, and Jill also organized a symposium on using intracranial recordings in language research!

 

 


October 2024: Dr. Will Turner presented work from his PhD on visual illusions at Stanford's Vision Brunch!
